STUDENT NATIONAL MEDICAL ASSOCIATION
The Student National Medical Association, Incorporated (SNMA) is the nation’s oldest and largest organization focused on the needs and concerns of medical students of color. Membership includes more than 7,000 medical students, premedical students, residents, and licensed physicians.

Established in 1964 by Howard University College of Medicine students and Meharry Medical College students, the SNMA claims over thirty (43) years of service to underserved communities. Local chapters based at allopathic and osteopathic medical schools throughout the nation implement SNMA programs and activities. The SNMA is committed to assuring that students of color are encouraged to consider and prepare for medical and scientific careers. Specific guidance, education, and assistance are provided directly to elementary, high school, and college students.
