NMA Celebrates Black History Month

During the month of the February, the National Medical Association (NMA) will recognize four black Americans that made phenomenal contributions to the art and science of medicine.

This week’s feature is Charles R. Drew, M.D.

National Black HIV/AIDS Awareness Day (NBHAAD)

is an important opportunity to raise awareness about the severe burden of HIV among African Americans -- the racial/ethnic group most affected by HIV in the U.S. While only 14 percent of the U.S. population, African Americans account for almost half of those living and dying with HIV and AIDS in this country.
