The National Medical Association Will Host 2018 Annual Convention and Scientific Assembly in Orlando

Washington, DC — The National Medical Association (NMA) is proud to announce the 2018 Annual Convention and Scientific Assembly will be held in Orlando, FL. The Convention will be held at the Rosen Shingle Creek from August 11 -15, 2018.
As the collective voice of African American physicians and the leading force for parity and justice in medicine and the elimination of disparities in health, The NMA conference will host over 2,500 African-American physicians and medical professionals from across the country. Accomplished speakers and panelists will discuss key health issues affecting the health and wellness of African- Americans including environmental health, hypertension, cancer, diabetes, HIV, and more.
The theme of this year’s conference is “The Urgency of Now: Creating a Culture of Health Equity”. The convention officially kicks off with the opening and awards ceremony on Saturday, August 11th to honor African Americans making outstanding achievements in health and medicine. Other events include, “Walk a Mile with a Child” on Saturday, August 11th, featuring a one-mile walk, giveaways, and fun activities for adults and children of all ages.

featuring thought leaders in the medical field highlighting timely news and trends affecting the health and wellness of the African-American community.
