Tell your Senator to vote No on the proposed Senate version of the American Health

Dear NMA Colleagues, Friends, and Partners:

I am alerting you that Senate Republicans are preparing a bill in secret to repeal the Affordable Care Act. Although it has not been released publicly, it is apparently similar to the cruel bill that was passed by the House a few weeks ago. According the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office the American Health Care Act as passed by the House would increase the number of people who are uninsured by 23 million in 2026 relative to current law. We have been informed that votes in support of the Senate version of the bill are already being lined up and that it will be introduced very soon.

I want to make it clear that this proposed bill is an impending disaster.

The NMA has the power to avert this miscarriage of justice by taking some resolute preventive action. Constituents (especially those in the key states of Alaska, Arizona, Colorado, Louisiana, Maine, Nevada, Ohio, Tennessee, and West Virginia) must call 855-344-3184 to tell your Senator to vote NO. If appropriate, tell your Senator’s office that as a physician, you are concerned that (your) patients may no longer have access to adequate health insurance. All those associated with the NMA should take a moment to immediately contact the Senate and share this message.

Please act now!!! This is our chance to make an impact on history, to save lives, and protect the health of millions of Americans.
